DO YOU ENJOY SINGING?
Then the Queensland Choir offers you a wonderful opportunity to enjoy singing with a choral group.
We are an auditioned choir that performs around 8-10 times a year in a variety of venues and encompassing a wide range of music and musical styles.
We sing with the major orchestras
We sing in the major concert venues and churches
We sing with top soloists
We rehearse on Monday evenings
Singers from 17-25 yrs are offered free membership
In 2013 we will be back singing in the renewed Brisbane City Hall
Why not join us?
You do not need to be a trained singer - the choir has both trained and untrained voices.
You do not need to read music at the highest level - however some reading ability will assist you to learn the music in the time available

We have a particular need for Sopranos for our 2013 Choral Season.
To join us you can either:
Come and sit in on a rehearsal to find out what we are like and then, if we are the group for you, an audition can be arranged. We rehearse on Monday evenings from 7.15pm to 9.45 pm at the Merthyr Uniting Church, 52 Merthry Rd. New Farm. Just ring the office (3895 8188) and let us know you are coming so that we can look after you and organise some music for you to use at that rehearsal.

Register for an audition. Full details of the audition requirements are provided in the AUDITION INFORMATION BOOKLET and on the AUDITION REGISTRATION FORM.
Auditions only take a few minutes and do not require a lot of preparation. You will be asked to sing a few scales, tap some rythms, pick notes from chords, sing your particular part from a nominated piece and to sight sing a few bars of music with piano accompaniment.
This is all done with only the Musical Director present.
Should you not feel confident to handle such an audition we have members of the Choir with good musical knowledge that are willing to work with you to make the process easier.
